ROBERT L. OGDEN
During the first twenty years of
his career, spent at Walter E. Heller & Company, Bob specialized in
financing the leveraged buyouts of the 1960s and 1970s and shepherded
company turn-arounds. He also managed Heller's term loan and leasing
division for 7 years. Recruited by First National Bank of Louisville in
1980, Bob left New York and took up residence in Louisville, Kentucky. For
4 years, Bob managed commercial asset based accounts for the bank and
during that period doubled loan volume.
Bob founded Ogden
Associates, Inc. in 1984. This investment banking and financial advisory
company has served over 100 clients from more than twenty different
industries in the last 20 years. OAI's primary goal's are providing a
guiding hand to promote and maintain client company financial stability,
helping to set goals, and assisting in procuring capital when necessary. As
well as founding OAI, Bob co-founded and is the chairman of a factoring company,
First Financial, Inc.
In 1995, recognizing
the need of entrepreneurs and small businesses to be able to connect with
"financing," Bob took on the primary responsibility of forming
the Venture Club of Louisville. This Club has attracted over 200 members
from 9 states. In nine years, the members have seen over 550 companies and
entrepreneurs from 15 different states, seeking in excess of $700 million.
In addition to being the Venture Club of Louisville Chairman Emeritus, Bob
is a member of the Venture Club of Indiana.
Bob is a 1999 Ernst
& Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He is an active member and
contributor to the business support and economic development efforts of
Greater Louisville, Inc. (formerly the Louisville Area Chamber of
Commerce). He also serves as financial advisor to many of his clients'
Boards of Directors.
MARJORIE SEAGRAVES – FINANCIAL SERVICES
 At Ogden Associates,
Marjorie initiates most financial analysis, which includes analysis of
client historical financial trends, asset and liability performance,
comparisons to budget, budget preparation and more. She also oversees the
financial records for Ogden Associates, the City of Glenview and The
Venture Club of Louisville.
Marjorie has had sixteen years
financial experience with two successful organizations in their respective industries,
Humana Inc., a leader in healthcare that services 6.2 million members; and
Chi-Chi's Restaurant, Inc., a major Mexican family restaurant chain with
200 plus units.
After study and
completion of courses in principles of accounting, economics, and
management at Bellarmine College, in Louisville, Kentucky, she assumed a
position as analyst at Chi-Chi's Inc. with emphasis on developing and
enhancing financial reporting systems and personnel to meet specific
business objectives. In her tenure of thirteen years with Chi-Chi's,
Marjorie's roles as analyst, supervisor and manager of regional accounting
equipped her with extensive experience and knowledge of functional
accounting and general ledger. Her accomplishments at Chi-Chi's included
the development, documentation, training, and implementation of automated
payables and sales systems. Marjorie's efforts were recognized and she was
awarded the honor of Employee of the Year. After Chi-Chi's was acquired by
Family Restaurant Inc., a California based corporation, and the corporate
headquarters relocated to Irvine, California, she joined Humana Inc.
In her position at
Humana, as supervisor of financial operations, Marjorie coordinated the
centralization of functional accounting to the corporate headquarters. As a
member of the Humana Y2K task force, she tested, analyzed, and documented
compliance for the accounts payable software.
TAUNIA VIERGUTZ – ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
In 2003 Taunia joined
Ogden Associates, among other responsibilities, was appointed the
Administrator for the Venture Club of Louisville wherein she arranges the
monthly luncheon meetings for its 150 plus members and guests and all the
other administrative duties for this organization.
She is the
"support system" for Ogden Associates, having more than 10 years
of administrative experience. That experience includes various
industries, yielding a broad base of knowledge and the ability to work with
and support clients of Ogden Associates. Taunia is responsible for
the day-to-day operation of the office, industry research projects, special
projects, and development and production of client presentations for
shareholders and the financial community.
Taunia graduated from Valley
High School, in Valley Station, Kentucky where she studied both general and
business courses. After graduation she went to Kentucky College of
Technology, in Louisville, Kentucky to continue her education with study
and completion of courses in Computer Programming, Accounting and Business
Administration.
She assumed a position
with Stamler Machine Company in Louisville, Kentucky as the
bookkeeper. In 1989 Taunia took the position of human resources
assistant/bookkeeper at Sleep Products, Inc. where she handled
customer service duties, collected accounts receivable and supported sales
managers by providing details regarding inventory. She handled
portions of the purchasing, managed logistics, was responsible for payroll processing
that included: piecework, down-time, hourly, salary, mileage, and
commissions. In 2000 Taunia moved to Cissell Manufacturing Company,
in Louisville, KY, as human resources assistant and then buyer where her
responsibilities included maintaining absenteeism program, managed employee
benefits to include: workers compensation, medical, dental, short
term and long term disability. She maintained the affirmative action
information and filed reports to the EEO, reporting union employee changes
to The International Association of Machinists and Areospace Workers Union,
and was the buyer of safety supplies, raw materials, tools and office
supplies.
CYNTHIA WILSON – ASSOCIATE
Cynthia has worked
independently with Ogden Associates since 1998, researching many industries
to produce in depth market and financial analysis reports for clients,
lenders and investors.
Nearly 20 years of reporting,
investigative reporting, research and editing is the foundation behind
Cynthia’s industry market research and client analysis work.
Originally from New
York City, Cynthia’s career includes work for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
where she covered Trans World Airlines' third and final bankruptcy and
Boeing's bid to win the largest fighter jet program in aviation history.
She also did a short stint at USA Today, where she supervised 12 freelance
sports reporters.
More recently she led a
seven person reporting team As the Business Editor for the Wichita Eagle
(Kansas) where she was a member of the newsroom's senior management team.
Cynthia is a 1991 Pulitzer and Kennedy award nominee, winner of two Society
of Professional Journalists awards, and two Small Business Administration
business advocate awards.
Cynthia's passion for research
and analysis grew while covering small business at The Courier- Journal in
Louisville, leading her to pursue and complete her MBA at the University of
Louisville (1999). From there she joined Edward Jones in St. Louis as an
Associate Analyst where she researched and analyzed company histories,
competitive positions and industry trends to make buy, hold or sell
recommendations on equity securities.
